After a long series of 916-based superbikes, Ducati dramatically mixed things up styling-wise with the vertically-stacked lights and double-sided swingarm of the 999 in 2003.
The styling was polarizing but the riding experience was not. And while the base model was a quality machine, the up-spec S model came with a slight bump in power/torque (141 hp, 82.5 lb-ft), Ohlins 43mm forks, and the option for a second seat (“bi-posto”).
This example is VIN: ZDM1UB5V34B007550. The seller acquired it in November 2020 from Ultra Motor Source in Menasha, Wisconsin.

The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues. During his ownership he had a Ducati dealership fix some electrical issues: a grounding issue and a fuel pump issue. He also installed a new battery with a battery tender lead in 2021. Ultra Motor Source said that they replaced the timing belts immediately before the sale in 11/20. The sale includes one key, the tool kit, and owner’s manual.
Currently located in Woodstock, Connecticut, this Ducati is offered on a clean Connecticut title.
